Korea University Video Blog

For my first semester in Korea, I had the pleasure to be the official video blogger for AsiaLearn: Korea University. Basically, my job was to create videos on different subject regarding my stay and experiences in South Korea during the first half of my stay.

Here are all the videos from the series. I hope you enjoy them!
Note: I wish I knew how to make the players larger, but I'm not all that tech-savvy.

Arrival & Bridging Cultures Program
In this video, I talk about my first week in South Korea. Our group goes to Busan to participate in various activities to get more informed about the Korean culture. They include making bibimbap, learning some Taekwondo moves, and a cultural performance presentation and instruction!

Campus Life: The 3 Must Do's!
In this video, I discuss the three must-do's while in Anam, district where Korea University is. They include going to a norebang (Korean karaoke), eating waffle sandwiches, and going to the many cafes in the area.

Academics at Korea University
In this video, I discuss the orientation and course selection process at Korea University for international students. I also show several clips of the campus to give you an idea of what the campus looks like. It's so pretty!

Culture: Part I
In this video, I talk about one of the most, if not the most, exciting event at Korea University. I highly suggest that if you are considering studying abroad in South Korea, that you attend either Yonsei University or Korea University. These two universities compete in a series of sporting events every fall semester. All of the students go out to each of the events and get so crazy. Although I couldn't keep up, I loved it!

Culture: Part II
In this video, I talk about Chuseok, a Korean national holiday during the fall. As explained in my post, Chuseok lasts for 3 days. However, the actual holiday isn't until the "middle" day. Because my friends and I are not Korean, we decided to go site seeing to a few locations including the Seoul Zoo and museum over the course of those 3 days.

Seoul Subway System
I'm from Minnesota, and the closest thing that we have to a subway is the light-rail. However, there is only one track for the train to go on. The Seoul subway map makes the subway system look so overwhelming and difficult, but it's actually not all that bad. In this video, I talk about the subway system while showing you a trip that I took on the subway.

Excursions: Gio Cat & Ice Skating
In this video, I talk about one of my favorites places in Korea and the world, Gio Cat! I also talk about ice skating with my friends. Hope you go there if you go!

Reflection
This is a video of my reflection of my overall fall semester experience at Korea University and in South Korea. It was so hard to talk about it without crying, so be warned, I do cry! LOL
